Data licences

The 74 active geo layers fall under 4 different licences. They are grouped by licence, with a link to the full text of each.

In addition, the Strategic Noise Map 2022 (Berlin Environmental Atlas, ua_stratlaerm_2022, licence: Data licence Germany, zero, version 2.0) feeds into the Kiez score as a build aggregate per planning area.

Data source: Statistische Ämter des Bundes und der Länder, Zensus 2022 (Statistical Offices of the Federation and the Länder, Census 2022). The “Existing rent (Census 2022)” and “Pre-1949 housing share (Census 2022)” layers use the grid data on net cold rent and on the construction-year classes of dwellings (licence Data Licence Germany Attribution 2.0). We converted the cells to planning areas, Kieze and districts.

Election data

Election results from 14 Berlin elections since 2011 (Bundestag, House of Representatives, District Assembly) are not available as a separate geo layer but as database aggregates. Sources and licence of the three data providers:

Demographics

Residents per LOR planning area are not available as a separate geo layer. We use them as precomputed totals for per-capita values and the demographic context.

Case numbers and frequency rates per LOR Bezirksregion feed into the Kiez score as precomputed values, not as a separate geo layer.

Climate data (German Weather Service, DWD)

Historical time series of summer days and heat days from four weather stations in and around Berlin (Dahlem, Tempelhof, Buch, Schönefeld) are available as a build aggregate in the heat context.
